GOOGLE CHROMECAST LAUNCHED IN INDIA

Google Chromecast the device which allows users to stream media to

HD TVs via the HDMI Port, will now be available from tommorrow, Decem-

ber 10 at Rs 2,999.  The Google Chromecast can be controlled by a Tablet 

or Smartphone and supports various platforms including Android and iOS

and also Windows and Mac.

Google has partnered with Snap deal and Airtell to bring the device to India.

The device will be available for grabs on the Google Play Store as well. 

As part of the Google Chromecast launch, Airtell will offer 60 gigabytes of

free data over three months on broadband plans.

What is Chromecast, and how does it works?

Chromecast celebrates it's first Birthday in July 2014.  The tiny, afforda-

ble HDMI Stick and it's casting method of streaming your favorite content

on the big screen.  Many have lots of questions about how tiny dongle

works on apps that supports devices for, example>>>on You Tube, Google

Play, HBO GO, Net flix, Hulu Plus, Vudu and Crackle, Red Bull TV, etc.

And such as IPads and IPhones, Chrome for Mac.

And how does it work?

The Cromecast is a 2-inch dongle that doen't look much different from a

USB thumb drive you might plug into your Laptop.  The dongle runs off 

a simplified version of Google's Chrome OS, and has only 256k of memory

which is nothing.  However, it doesn't need to have much more than a

gateway.  It gets plugged into your HD TVs HDMI Port connected to your

home's Wi-Fi network and acts as a Portal for the content on your mobile

devicess to be cast onto your HD TVs.
